ATLANTA, Georgia -- Prairie View A&M took South Carolina State to four overtimes before falling 40-38 Saturday afternoon at home inside Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
The Bulldogs improved to 10-3 on the season while the Panthers dropped to 10-4.
Cameron Peters led Prairie View A&M's passing attack with 412 yards through the air, tossing four touchdowns without throwing an interception. The signal caller also added 35 yards and one touchdown on the ground.
Peters paced the Panthers rushing attack by accumulating 35 yards and one touchdown over the course of the game. Lamagea McDowell also added 15 yards on the ground.
Andre Dennis hauled in seven catches for 131 yards and one score. Cameron Bonner made his presence felt in the passing game, recording two receptions for 91 yards and one touchdown. The Panthers also added 77 yards receiving and one touchdown from Jyzaiah Rockwell in the game.
Cornelius Davis showed out for the Prairie View A&M defense, collecting one interception. Sterling Roberts added 11 tackles, 2.5 TFL, and 2.5 sacks and Rockwell had in the loss.
The Prairie View A&M offense did a good job keeping drives alive, converting on 42.9 percent of third-down attempts.
Defensively, Prairie View A&M did an excellent job limiting the South Carolina State rushing attack, holding the Bulldogs to 78 yards on the ground. The Panthers defense took up residence in South Carolina State's backfield all game, racking up four sacks and nine total tackles for loss.

Prairie View A&M kept building its advantage, scoring again with 1:05 left in the second quarter to go on top 21-0.South Carolina State came back to tie the game at 21-21, but the Panthers answered back with a 13-yard touchdown pass from to Dennis to jump back ahead 28-21.
South Carolina State evened the game at 28-28 before Prairie View A&M jumped back in front with a 78-yard touchdown pass from to Bonner to make the count 35-28 at the 9:53 mark in the fourth quarter.The Bulldogs rallied to tie the game at 35 before the Panthers reclaimed the lead, pushing their advantage to 38-35 on a 29-yard field goal from . Prairie View A&M didn't score again and South Carolina State tacked on five more points to finish off the scoring.
