Soccer Falls Victim To Texas State

SAN MARCOS, Texas - Defense was an issue for Prairie View A&M at Texas State in a 5-0 loss on Friday night. The Lady Panthers dropped to 0-3 on the season after playing three-consecutive games on the road against tough Southland and Sun Belt Conference opponents.

Texas State put up three goals in the first period against Prairie View A&M starting goal keeper Dominique Dillon and added two more more in the second period on substitution Sierra Golding. The Lady Panthers were out-shot 33-to-9 by Texas State, giving up two goals to Texas State forward Lynsey Curry in a matter of about 17 minutes. After the loss, Dillon also dropped to 0-3 on the season protecting the net for the Lady Panthers.

Prairie View A&M senior forward Angie Guillory was aggressive for her team, getting off five shots against the Texas State defense. She, however, had one shot on goal in the match.

The Lady Panthers will try to get back on track as they play host to Nicholls State on at noon on Sunday at the Prairie View A&M soccer field in the home-opener.
