NORMAL, Ala. – The Prairie View A&M Lady Panthers were unable to capitalize on a one-player advantage Friday as they lost 2-0 to a shorthanded Alabama A&M side.
With her team playing one player down for the last 27 minutes of the match, Estelle Esperance scored twice in a span of four minutes late in the second half to steal a much-needed win from the visiting Lady Panthers.
Esperance scored in the 80th and 84th minutes to lift Alabama A&M (3-10, 3-5 Southwestern Athletic Conference) to its third win in four matches.
The Lady Panthers (8-6-1) fell into a fourth-place tie with Arkansas–Pine Bluff on the SWAC table with a 5-3 conference record.
Only the requisite 11 players appeared on the field for the Lady Bulldogs until the 63rd minute, when AAMU's Sadarah Williams was sent off with a red card in the 63rd minute. Prairie View A&M's

Prairie View A&M was in complete control of the match in the first half, but were unable to convert any of their chances. The Lady Panthers outshot the home side 13-0 in the opening 45 minutes, with six shots on target. The visitors also took all five of the match's corner kicks.
