WACO, Texas – The Prairie View A&M Lady Panthers turned in a strong performance Wednesday in a non-conference match at regionally ranked Baylor.
 
Baylor, ranked No. 66 in the region by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association, claimed a 5-2 win over the visiting Lady Panthers.
 
Tatiana Ruhl (pictured) picked up victories in both singles and doubles play to highlight the day for the Lady Panthers. Her 6-0, 6-0 victory over Baylor's Hadley Young in flight six was Ruhl's first official singles win this season.
 
In doubles action, Ruhl and Shaddae Findley cruised to a 6-0 win over Young and Vanessa Phan in flight three. PVAMU's Timara Maxwell and Trinity Randolph gave a spirited showing in a 6-3 loss in flight two to Rhiann Newborn and Gabriela Ferreira.
 
Timara Maxwell took PVAMU's other point, defeating Phan by scores of 6-3, and 6-1 in flight five. Maxwell leads the Lady Panthers with an 8-9 overall record in singles play this season; she improved to 2-0 as PVAMU's flight five player.
 
Findley also had a strong showing in her singles match, taking five points from Karina Traxler in a 6-2, 6-3 flight four win for the Baylor player.
 
The Lady Panthers return to action Saturday when they visit Northeast Texas for a match at Tyler Junior College. First serves are scheduled for 2 p.m.
