The Prairie View A&M University volleyball team returns to action Tuesday in a 7 p.m. match at Houston Baptist.
Â
The Lady Panthers (0-3) opened the season 10 days ago in the two-day Baylor Tournament. Although PVAMU lost on the scoreboard, it was a good start to the season from a competitive and growth standpoint.
Â
Second-year head coach Tacho Tyler's young team played without several starters last weekend, but the upside was that several players were forced into key roles. The experience gained last week combined with the return of several starters carried over into last week's practice.
Â
"Our offense is more fluid with the return of key starters
Randi Hunter and MoKeysha Franklin," Tyler said. "Defense is holding steady in igniting our offense. We've always seen more consistency with our two setters
Erica Jimenez and
Kira Kirkham running our fast-paced offense."
Â
The Lady Huskies (4-4) already has eight matches under its belt, and is coming off a 3-1 weekend in hosting a tournament this past weekend.
Â
"It will be important for us to stay composed," Tyler said of Tuesday's contest. "We must be focused while minimizing consecutive errors, and take it one point at a time."
