HUNTSVILLE, Texas. –  The Prairie View A&M women's tennis team lost its season opener to Sam Houston by the final of 7-0 Friday afternoon at the McAdams Tennis Center.
 
In the #1 singles matchup, the Lady Panthers' Neharika Rama won a set (7-5) before losing 6-3, 10-8.
 
In Saturday's match-up the women's team fell 5-2 to UT Rio Grande Valley.
 
In the singles completion, the Lady Panthers posted a pair of victories.  #1 Rama won 6-1 6-4 OVER WHO?and  Tatiana Ruhl picked up a win in the sixth spot BY DEFEATING WHO?? by the scores of 6-0 and 6-1.
 
The Lady Panthers will return to the courts when they host Lamar on Saturday, January 21, for a 10 a.m. match.
