HOUSTON – Although the record says one thing the Prairie View A&M University bowling team pin fall count says another as PVAMU finished tied 10-2 with Jackson State during the SWAC West Round up this weekend.
The Lady Panthers rolled a total pin fall of 12,998 on the three-day weekend to claim the top spot after the three-day roundup. PVAMU came into Sunday's round undefeated before falling to both Jackson State and Grambling posting Prairie View A&M to a 10-2 record.
Jackson State also has a 10-2 record, but their total pin fall was 12,818. Texas Southern finished third at 9-3 (12,847), Gambling State was fourth going 6-6 (10, 086), Alabama State finished fifth with an 4-8 (11,586) record, Southern (3-9, 10,536) and Alabama A&M (0-12, 8468) rounded out the standings
Amanda Morgan paced all Lady Panthers with a pin fall of 2,535 to advance her to a third place finish in individual play, but she earned honors as the top freshman bowler for the weekend.
Lindsay Paredes rolled an average of 193 for a fifth place spot in individual play with a total pin fall of 2,319 after 12 games.
The Lady Panthers will return to the lanes when they host the Prairie View A&M Invitational at the IRTC in Arlington Friday - Sunday Jan. 27-29.
