The Prairie View A&M University men's basketball team won its third straight home game and fourth contest in its last five overall with a 70-65 win over Alabama A&M Saturday at the William J. Nicks Babydome.

Zachary Hamilton led the Panthers (7-15 overall, 4-4 SWAC) with 14 points and five rebounds in the victory.
Tevin Bellinger scored 11 points with seven rebounds, five assists, two steals and a blocked shot and
Jordan Giddings had 10 points off the bench for PVAMU.

There were six ties and eight lead changes in the contest. A three pointer by
Troy Thompson broke a 21-21 tie, sparking a 10-0 run. The Panthers led 31-23 at halftime.

After Alabama A&M (1-18, 1-7) rallied to take a pair of one-point leads in the second half, Prairie View A&M regained the lead for good. A three-point play by Bellinger put PVAMU ahead for good, 50-49 near the midway mark of the second half. A Belllinger layup with just over three minutes to play put the Panthers up 10, 67-57.

The Panthers return to action Monday in an 8 p.m. home game against Alabama State which will be nationally televised on ESPNU.
