PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas – An early goal in the second half proved to be the difference Friday evening as the Prairie View A&M soccer team took a 1-0 victory over the Golden Lions of Arkansas Pine Bluff at the PVAMU Soccer Complex.
Â
After the two clubs were scoreless over the first 45 minutes, the Lady Panthers came out swinging in the second half, wasting no time in taking the lead. Â Three minutes and 28 seconds into the period two, sophomore
Alexis Mack drilled the shot past the goal keeper for her first goal of the season.
Â
Senior goalkeeper
Clarissa Ledesma set the tempo early, stopping several kicks in net. Ledesma ended up saving all seven shots that came her way for her third shutout of the season.
The Lady Panthers will look to make it back-to-back victories this weekend, welcoming Grambling State into the PVAMU Soccer Complex on Sunday at 1 p.m.Â
