DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Prairie View A&M University women's basketball team lost at Bethune-Cookman 77-52 Monday at the Moore Gymnasium.
The Lady Panthers were led by
Shala Dobbins who finished with 19 points, along with a season high seven rebounds, and four steals.
Dominique Newman added 10 points, with a season-high five rebounds, two assists and four steals.
There were four ties in the course of the first six minutes of the quarter, with the last coning at 11-11. A late run by Bethune-Cookman gave the Wildcats a 22-17 lead after one quarter.
The Lady Panthers were outscored 45-21 over the second and third quarters.
Prairie View A&M will return to action as they participate in the Feast of Sharing Tournament on Saturday when they face Texas A&M Corpus Christi at noon, and Sunday at 3 p.m. when they face host team Texas Rio-Grande Valley, with both games in Edinburg, Texas.
