LUBBOCK, Texas – The Prairie View A&M women's basketball team fell to Texas Tech 89-60 in a midweek contest at the United Supermarkets Arena.
Alexis Robinson led the Lady Panthers with 14 points, while Shala Dobbins put in 12 and Kendra Hicks posted 10.
Hicks opened up Wednesday's match with a bucket at the 7:39 mark. The Lady Panthers and Lady Patriots battled back-and forth in the first quarter before Texas Tech took a six point lead into the next frame (16-10).
Jordyn Penniman opened the second quarter with a three, but it wasn't enough as the Lady Patriots took an 10-0 run to extend their lead to 16 to close out the first half (39-23) before breaking the game open in the second half.
Prairie View A&M will continue its non-conference slate next Monday as the Lady Panthers head to Colorado State for an 8 p.m. CT tip.
