ALEXANDRIA - La. Prairie View A&M women's tennis team fell 4-3 to Louisiana State University at Alexandria in a closely contested match on Saturday at the Alexandria City Courts.

"LSUA came out really strong today," said head coach
Duane Lewis. "This was a team that we beat last year, but they made some adjustments and came on the courts prepared to play. We could have done a few things differently, but overall I think we played some good games."

In the women's doubles PVAMU won the third doubles set with the team of
Shaddae Findley and
Mayte Calmet over Paula Gordillo and Ariadna Cabezas 8-2.

Neharika Rama posted a win at the one in the singles match over Sara Andrade by the scores of 6-2, 6-2. Findley also won her match 7-6, 6-0.Â
Timara Maxwell also posted a win at the five over Cabezas with the scores of 6-2, 6-4.

The team will return to action on Sunday when they face McNeese State for a 1 p.m. match in Lake Charles, La.

"I think that we should play as well tomorrow as we did today," Williams said. "Hopefully it will be a different outcome. It should be a good showing, we just need to be on our "A" game.
