The Prairie View A&M University baseball team lost to Texas Southern 6-4 Friday at Tankersley Field.
Corbin Jamison went 2-for-4 with a run scored, two RBI and two stolen bases, and
Nathan Carter went 2-5 with an RBI in the SWAC and home opener for the Panthers (3-11 overall, 0-1 SWAC).
Prairie View A&M trailed 4-0 in the sixth when they got on the board.
Xavier Jefferson got on with one out when he reached on a wild pitch. He then stole second and advanced to third on
Corbin Jamison single through the left side. With two outs and the bases loaded,
Nathan Carter's infield single scored Jefferson, cutting the deficit to 4-1.
In the seventh, trailing 6-1, PVAMU scored again. With two outs, Jefferson singled to right field, moving Jayln Baker, who reached on a fielder's choice, to third base. Jamison then doubled down the left field line scoring both runners to cut the deficit to 6-3.
The Panthers added a final run in the ninth on a sacrifice fly by
Cody Den Beste, scoring Jamison, who led off the inning with a walk.
