The Prairie View A&M University baseball team fell at home to Texas A&M Corpus Christi 11-5 Wednesday at Tankersley Field.
 
The Panthers scored all their runs in the first four innings. In the first, Xavier Jefferson walked and scored on Cody Den Beste's double down the right field line. Nathan Carter then reached on an infield single, moving Den Beste to third. Jalyn Baker walked to load the bases, and Tyrone Thomas' single to right scored Den Beste to tie the game at 2-2.
 
PVAMU took the lead in the second. Trailing 3-2, Tyrone Gordon was hit by a pitch. Following a sacrifice bunt by Andrew Garcia, Corbin Jamison doubled to right center, scoring Gordon. After a sacrifice bunt by Xavier Jefferson, Den Beste's single through the right side scored Jamison to give the Panthers a 4-3 lead.
 
After falling behind 7-4, the Panthers scored their final run in the fourth on a solo home run by Jamison to lead off the inning.
 
Thomas went 3-for-5 at the plate with an RBI for PVAMU, Jamison went 2-for-5 with two runs scored and two RBI, and Den Beste went 2-for-4 with a run scored and two RBI.
 
The Panthers open a three-game SWAC road series at Southern Friday at 6 p.m.
