PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas –The Prairie View A&M women's tennis team lost to the University of Texas San Antonio 5-2 Monday at the PVAMU Tennis Courts.
The Lady Panthers opened the doubles competition posting their first point of the day. The duo of
Constanza Aranguiz and
Neharika Rama started things off for the Lady Panthers at the No. 1 position with a win over UTSA's Denisa Ibrahimovic and Ivana Ilic with a 6-2 win.
Jessica Lackey and
Jimena Duran-Castellanos defeated Sofie Boers and Charleen Tiwari to earn the point for the Lady Panthers in the 6-3 win at the No. 3 position.
After taking a 1-0 lead the Lady Panthers picked up their second point in singles after Aranguiz defeated Boers at the No. 3 position, winning by 6-2, 6-1. PVAMU's
Shaddae Findley was able to force a third set falling at the No. 4 spot, with the scores of 6-2, 2-6 (7-6) to Tiwari.

Tatiana Ruhl was close to forcing a third set, but came up short as Sonia Madronal took the 6-1, 7-6 win at the No. 6 position.
The Lady Panthers will return to the courts when they head to Austin, Texas to face St. Edwards on Friday, Feb. 2 for an 11 a.m. first set.
