AMES, Iowa - The Prairie View A&M women's basketball team will head to the midwest to face Iowa State for another mid-week non-conference contest on Wednesday in a 6:30 p.m. tip.

PVAMU is 3-5 on the season, with its wins coming against Jarvis Christian (117-32), Arlington Baptist (105-31) and Texas A&M Corpus Christi (67-59). The Panthers dropped its last contest at Arkansas 71-44 on Sunday.
Improving to a 4-5 record will be no easy task for the Panthers. Iowa State (8-2) edged by Drake 86-81 in their last contest and has only two losses this season, those coming from #16 ranked Iowa (73-70) and South Dakota (64-59).
The Panthers and the Cyclones will be meeting for the third time in the history of the two programs. Their last meeting was on December 30, 2010 as PVAMU fell 58-50 in Ames, Iowa.

Dominique Newman leads the Panthers in scoring 12 ppg and 10.1 ppg, respectively. Junior
Ke'Asia Williams, who moved to the starting lineup, provides a spark on the defense leading the team with an 8.3 average in rebounding. She had a season high of 12 rebounds against Arkansas.
Following Wednesday's game, PVAMU will continue its challenging road schedule as the Panthers finish non-conference play at No. 23 Texas A&M on Friday, December 21 at 6:30 p.m. in College Station, Texas.
