BEAUMONT, Texas - The Prairie View A&M women's tennis team fell to Lamar University, 4-0 at the Municipal Tennis Complex on Tuesday.
The Lady Panthers played some close matches, but weren't able to hold on for the win. In the concluding match and the final point for Lamar, Lady Panther Jimena Duran-Castellano forced a third set, but wasn't able to get the win at the No. 3 position with the scores of 6-2, 7-6, (7-2). Stacey Lackey fell 6-2, 6-3 in the No. 1 position to Buchta in singles play. At the No. 2 position
Neharika Rama fell 6-1, 6-1 to Jolic.
In the opening doubles match the duo of Lackey/
Timara Maxwell fell 6-1 to Lamar's Sanja Jolic/Milena Belianovich.
In the double match up both duo sets of Rama/
Constanza Aranguiz and
Tatiana Ruhl/
Shaddae Findley fell 6-4. Rama/Aranguiz fell to Jasmin Buchta/Natalia Molina of Lamar, while Ruhl and Findley fell to Amelie Vossgaetter/Kaela Di Giulio.
Both the women's and men's team will return to action Thursday, Feb. 15 when they face Texas A&M Corpus Christi in Corpus Christi, Texas.
