LUBBOCK, Texas – Prairie View A&M's Logan Williams finished fifth in the 60 meter hurdles to lead all Panthers during the first day of the Texas Tech Open on Friday.

Williams finished with a time of 8.15 boasting a season best.  Aaron Austin also finished the day with a season best in the 5000 with a time of 16:57 and an 11^th place finish.

On the women's team freshman Bryanna Barnett had a top ten finish in the 5000 meter run with a season best time 21:30.  Senior Deonca Bookman had a top 10 performance in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.78.  Sophomore Sabrina Ozigbo posted a weight throw of 12.98, which was a college career best to end the day. 

The Panther teams will return to action Saturday, for an 11:30 a.m. start.  The first event of the day will be the mile run.  The meet will conclude with the 4x400 Saturday evening.
