HOUSTON, Texas – The Prairie View A&M women's and men's track teams are prepared to compete in their last meet of the indoor track and field season, before heading to the Southwestern Athletic Conference Championships on Frida,y in the Howie Ryan Invite at the Yoeman Fieldhouse hosted by the University of Houston.

Action at the Howie Ryan Invitational begins with the women's weight throw and the women's long jump at 11 a.m. The opening gun will sound on the running events at 1 p.m., to signal the start of the women's 60-meter hurdles, with the meet scheduled to wrap up with the women's and men's 4x400-meter relay at 7:20 p.m.

The Panther coaches will be looking forward to seeing where their athletes are and what final touches will need to be made after competing last week at Texas Tech, where several athletes had season best.

"I feel that all the athletes from both teams are doing really well," said head PVAMU men's track & field coach. "On the men's side the team has really come together. I thought I would have had a little more depth in some areas, but we are still in a good place."
