The Prairie View A&M baseball team fell in extra innings to Grambling at home 18-11 Friday at Tankersley Field.

Corbin Jamison had a season-high four hits for the Panthers.
Steven Williams hit a solo homer and had two hits as did
Calvin Rucker and
Tyler Gordon.

Trailing 6-3, PVAMU took its first lead in the bottom of the sixth.
Andrew Garcia walked and Rucker singled to lead off the inning.
Xavier Jefferson reached on sacrifice bunt and a Grambling error to allow Garcia and Rucker to score to cut the deficit to 6-5. Gordon's single to center field scored Jefferson to tie the game. Jamison reached on a bunt single, and
Brashad Jones walked to load the bases. With one out,
Ezekiel Bear singled to right field, scoring Jamison and Jones to give the Panthers an 8-6 lead.

After Grambling tied the score in the top of the seventh, Prairie View A&M took it right back in the home seventh. Rucker singled to lead off the inning and pinch runner Demarie' Smith advanced to third on a bunt single by Jefferson. Gordon's safety squeeze bunt scored Smith to put the Panthers ahead. Jefferson later scored in the inning as a PVAMU runner was caught in a rundown for an 11-9 lead.

Leading 11-10, Prairie View A&M added a run in the bottom of the eighth on an RBI triple by Williams, scoring
Daniel Lingua who was hit by a pitch to led off the inning.

The Tigers tied the score in the top of the ninth and broke the game open in the 10
th inning.

Game two of the series is Saturday at 2 p.m., with game three Sunday at 1 p.m. at Tankersley Field.
