NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Prairie View A&M baseball team rolled past Miss. Valley State 13-1 in seven innings in a SWAC Tournament elimination game Thursday at Wesley Barrow Stadium.

Steven Williams was a double away from the cycle, going 3-for-5, scoring twice and driving in a season-high five runs, sparking the bottom of the lineup as spots 5-9 combined to go 10-for-20 with seven runs scored and nine RBI.
Avery Williams went 2-for-5 with two runs scored and an RBI,
Andrew Garcia went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI,
Brashad Jones went 1-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI, and Demarie' Smith went 2-for-3 with an RBI.
Tyler Laux went the distance on the mound, allowing five hits and one run, walking four and striking out two, throwing 58 of his 93 pitches for strikes.

Daniel Lingua was the big blow in the opening at-bat as PVAMU took a 2-0 lead in the top of the first.
A five-run third, all with two outs, and a three-run fourth broke the game open for the Panthers.
In the third,
Tyler Gordon reached on an error, advanced to second on a ground out, and moved to third on a fly out. S. Williams then singled through the left side, scoring Gordon. A. Williams followed with a double to left center, scoring S. Williams for a 4-0 lead. After Garcia singled to left field, moving A. Williams to third, A. Williams scored on a wild pitch for a 5-0 lead. Jones then tripled to left center, scoring Garcia, with Jones scoring on an error at the end of the play for a 7-0 lead.
In the fourth, Lingua singled with one out. With two outs, S. Williams homered to left field to extend the lead to 9-0. A. Williams followed with a triple to right center, and scored on a single by Garcia for a 10-0 lead.
