PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas– First year pitcher Crystal Castillo earned First Team All-SWAC honors as they were announced by the Southwestern Athletic Conference Monday.
 
A native of San Benito, Texas, Castillo pitched well in her first season for PVAMU.  From the circle, she holds the lowest ERA on the team (3.48) and is second in opponents' batting average (.245).  She has a 5-5 record in 16 games with eight starts with 28 strikeouts.  
                                                          
The first-round of SWAC Championship action for the 2018 season gets underway on Wednesday, May 9, in Montgomery, Alabama.  The Lady Panthers will enter the contest as the third seed of the western division and will play the #2 seeded Alabama A&M of the eastern division at 9 a.m.
