PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas – In a very aggressive match the Prairie View A&M women's soccer team fell 3-0 to Houston Baptist, Friday night at the PVAMU Soccer Field.
"Just looking at the way the team came out, it was a lot more organized play," said PVAMU head soccer coach
Sonia Curvelo. "I know in the first half we were more dominant. All of the training that we have been doing showed throughout the game. Obviously in the second half is where we need to become a lot tighter in the box. We created some opportunities. There were some positives on the attacking side, but we just didn't follow through to get the win."
Junior Gina De Rojas had three shots to lead the team with three shots and two were on goal. Freshman
Sonia Feuntes and
Alex Fields both had a shot a piece. Feuntes shot was on goal. Freshman goalkeeper
Quinn Josiah faced 17 shots and had eight saves in her 90 minutes of play.
The Lady Panthers will return to action when they face Texas State at 1 p.m. at the PVAMU Soccer Field
