JACKSON, Miss. - The Prairie View A&M soccer team moved back into the win column after grabbing their third Southwestern Athletic Conference victory of the season Friday afternoon, taking down the Lady Tigers of Jackson State 1-0 with an impressive defensive effort after a brief weather delay.

The first half, which was played to a stalemate, saw four PVAMU shots and a goal to none for the Tigers. The Lady Panthers put up four more shots sealing the game with the only goal of the contest.

Randi Plair. Both Griffin's shots were on goal, while Bernal and Plair had one shot on goal apiece.Â
Alex Fields also took a shot in the win.

The Lady Panthers defense shut down the Lady Tigers, allowing no goals and was limited to just one shot on goal by stingy defensive play from different players.

The win moved PV's record to 3-1 in SWAC play this season and 4-7 overall.
The Lady Panthers will return to the pitch on Sunday when they face the Jags of Southern U. in Baton Rouge. The match is set to begin at 1 p.m. CT on Southern's Soccer Field.
