MOBILE, Ala. - The Prairie View A&M women's basketball team fell 65-52 to Miami-Ohio during a Preseason WNIT consolation bracket game Thursday evening.

With the loss, the Panthers (0-2) will face the loser of the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi/South Alabama contest currently ongoing.

Senior guard Bernesha Peters led Prairie View A&M with 18 points on 7-of-12 shooting, adding four rebounds. Grad transfer guard Tatyana Perez and senior guard Dominique Newman each added eight points, and senior forward Ke'Asia Williams grabbed a team-best nine rebounds to go with five points.

Four RedHawks players scored in double figures, led by Lauren Dickerson's 19 points. Savannah Kluesner added 15 points and eight rebounds.

A close contest early on, Prairie View A&M momentarily fell behind by as many as 11 in the second quarter, but a jumper from Williams and a fast-break layup by freshman guard Diana Rosenthal brought the Panthers within seven. Miami (OH) added a basket in the closing seconds of the half to take a 30-21 lead into intermission.

The Panthers got within a basket of the RedHawks during the third, as the three-ball keyed a 10-2 run midway through the frame. Though the RedHawks pushed their lead to seven heading to the fourth. There, Peters converted a pair of free throws and Perez nailed a three-pointer to bring the Panthers within two.

Peters continued to keep the Panthers within a bucket of Miami (OH), as she knocked down a jumper to make it 49-47 with 7:17 left. However, the Panthers went cold from the floor, going nearly six minutes without a point. The RedHawks capitalized with a 14-0 run over that span that the Panthers were unable to rebound from.

Prairie View A&M shot 20-of-65 (31%) from the field, compared to Miami's 25-of-61 (41%) clip. The Panthers forced 21 RedHawk turnovers but were out-rebounded 50-36.
