Lady Panthers Announces 2019-20 Basketball Schedule

PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas – Prairie View A&M women's head basketball coach Sandy Pugh has released the 2019-20 schedule. The 12-opponent out-of-conference slate is highlighted with six Power five teams.

Fans will get their first look at Lady Panthers on November 5, when Texas A&M-Kingsville pays a visit to the William J. Nicks Baby Dome as part of Prairie View A&M's season opener. Tip-off is set for 5:30 p.m. 

From there, the Lady Panthers hit the road, starting with a November 8 date at Oklahoma as part of the 2019 Preseason Women's National Invitational Tournament at 7 p.m.  If successful against the Sooners, Prairie View A&M would continue to the next round, set to take place November 10-11, with the final rounds of the tournament to be held from November 15-17. Following their play in the Preseason WNIT, the Lady Panthers head to the desert to face Arizona on November 20.

Prairie View A&M will return to the Baby Dome November 23 against Wiley College, with tip-off set for 3 p.m. The Lady Panthers conclude the opening month of play with a road tilt at Texas A&M on November 27. 

December 5 marks a historic contest for the Lady Panthers, as the team hosts Florida for the first time in school history at 7 p.m. 

The Lady Panthers jump back on the road for a Texas two-step, with a December 15 contest at nearby Rice at 2 p.m. and a December 17 battle at Texas Tech. Then, Prairie View A&M heads north to face Wisconsin on December 20 before closing out 2019 with a doubleheader home game versus Huston-Tillotson on December 30. 

Prairie View A&M begins 2020 play in friendly confines on January 4 with a 3 p.m. versus Alcorn State. The Lady Panthers then welcome defending conference and tournament champion Southern to The Hill on January 6.

The Lady Panthers' first conference road game will be played at arch-rival Texas Southern January 11.

In all, Prairie View A&M is set to have seven conference games in January, with four at home. 

There will be eight games in February with the first two games being on the road against Alabama State February 1 and Alabama A&M on February 3. The Lady Panthers then host rival Texas Southern February 8 at 3 p.m. and continue through SWAC play until concluding the regular season at Southern on March 7.
