PRAIRIE VIEW – The Prairie View A&M soccer team started its Southwestern Athletic Conference portion of the slate on a high note, overwhelming Alcorn State 5-0 and shutting out Mississippi Valley State 3-0 on Friday.
The Lady Panthers improve to 3-6 (2-0 SWAC).
PVAMU 5, Alcorn 0 (Sunday)
A second-half blitz allowed the Lady Panthers to remain perfect in league play, as Prairie View A&M found the net five times in the final 45 minutes to cruise past the Lady Braves.
The Lady Panthers dominated possession, amassing 40 shots while holding Alcorn State without a look on net. Sophomore midfielder

Alexis Mack beat Alcorn goalie Kali Helms to make it 2-0.

Jojo Bernal picked up her second score of the season in the 73

Diana Neff converted her third goal of the season.
Alexis Espino capped the scoring with her first career goal at the 83
rd minute.

Quinn Josiah picked up her second shutout in as many matches.

The Lady Panthers peppered the Devilettes with attempts from the first touch, overwhelming the visitors with constant pressure on net. Prairie View A&M ultimately struck first in the 41
st minute, as redshirt freshman midfielder
Ashley Chala beat Mississippi Valley netminder McKenzie McCarthy for the game-winner.
Prairie View A&M continued to dominate possession through the second half, where Neff added a pair of season high goals for insurance, one at the 64
th minute and another during the 74
th minute.
Prairie View A&M outshot MVSU 31-8 in the match, getting 11 shots on goal compared to three for the Devilettes. Sophomore goalkeeper

McCarthy made eight saves for the Devilettes.
