Bowling has challenging finish to TRACK Kat Klash

CUT AND SHOOT, Texas – The Prairie View A&M bowling team had a forgettable effort on the lanes during the final day of the Sam Houston State-hosted TRACK Kat Klash Saturday at the Time 2 Spare Entertainment bowling alley.

The Lady Panthers dropped each of their matches on the day, remaining in fourth place to finish the tournament.

"Our performance today reinforced the fact that we still have a lot of work to do," Head Bowling Coach Glenn White said. "The team struggled today with closing frames and repeatability. It didn't help losing one of my starters in Crystal Cline to injury. Hopefully, the ladies will get a chance to work on things during the break and come back ready to approach a challenging spring season."

In a harbinger of the day to come, the Lady Panthers were nipped by Texas Southern 914-924 in their first match of the day. After an 831-943 setback to No. 2 Vanderbilt, PVAMU stumbled 823-986 versus host and No. 5 Sam Houston State. The Lady Panthers ended the day on a sour note, a 957-1,056 defeat versus No. 9 Louisiana Tech.

Prairie View A&M had four bowlers in the top 20 of individual standings, led by Asia Wren's 188.0 average, which was good for 13th. Patricia Rosales was right behind her with an average of 187. Stephanie Vasquez ranked 18th with a mean score of 175.4, and Cheyenne Washington posted an average of 167.2 to rank 20th.

The Lady Panthers have concluded the fall portion of their slate and return to action Jan. 15 for the Southwestern Athletic Conference West Bowling Roundup.
