PRAIRIE VIEW – In the university's continuing efforts to address the increasing threat of the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19), the Prairie View A&M Athletics Department has decided to delay the upcoming 2020 PV Relays as well as the spring football game.
The decision comes in conformity with recommendations from public health and medical professionals to discourage and limit large gatherings to prevent the possibility of a Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak in the community.
While efforts to reschedule the PV Relays are currently underway, a new date has not been identified. We will notify the Panther community of a rescheduled date when one has been determined.
The spring football game initially slated for March 28 at Panther Stadium is now scheduled for April 4, 2020, at 4 p.m.
Panther Athletics will continue to follow the guidelines set forth by University leaders, NCAA and the SWAC regarding the remaining scheduled sporting events. We are evaluating attendance protocols for home competitions and social events out of an abundance of caution for our student athletes and Panther fans.
