LORMAN, Miss. – The Prairie View A&M soccer team (3-1, 3-0 SWAC) dominated Alcorn State (0-3, 0-3 SWAC) 5-0 to remain perfect in Southwestern Athletic Conference play Friday afternoon at Spinks-Casem Stadium.
How it Happened:
Aggressive early on offense, the Panthers struck first as
Andrea Nugent blasted a shot at the 28
th minute. Not long after,
Jojo Bernal found the net at the 34
th minute to give Prairie View A&M a commanding lead. Outshooting Alcorn State 20-0 in the first half, Nugent set up
Lauren Hermosa in the 44
th minute with a nice feed that Hermosa converted into a goal in the 44
th minute.
The Panthers did not let up after intermission, as
Alexis Espino's assist led to a score from
Lesa Griffin in the 53
rd minute.
Ashley Chala punctuated the rout with a late strike in the 89
th minute.
Quinn Josiah picked up the shutout win, making a save in goal.
