NACOGDOCHES, Texas - Despite back-and-forth play Sunday afternoon at the SFA Soccer Field, Prairie View A&M came out on the short end of a 2-0 decision against Stephen F. Austin in their final non-conference scheduled contest of the season.
How it Happened:
The Lady Panthers missed out on several opportunities to score, allowing the Ladyjacks to score two unanswered goals in the second half of play, in the 69
th and 89
th minutes of play propelling them to a 2-0 win. PVAMU fell to 2-2-2 overall.
Post-Game Notes:
- Prairie View took 15 shots, four of which were shots on goal.
- Four players took three shots a piece in the contest: Lesa Griffin, Sonia Fuentes, Andrea Nugent and Jojo Bernal.
- A. Nugent, Fuentes and Yahaira Owens had opportunities, but just could not punch the ball in the goal.
- Josiah Quinn had four saves
Prairie View A&M will return to action when they open Southwestern Athletic Conference play against Jackson State in Jackson, Miss., on Friday, September 24 at 3 p.m. on the JSU Soccer Field.
