JACKSON, Miss. – Red-shirt junior defender Andrea Nugent scored her second goal of the season against Jackson State as the Prairie View A&M University took a 2-1 win over the Tigers during the first Southwestern Athletic Conference contest on Friday in Jackson.

How it Happened: 
A. Nugent broke a scoreless tie in the 40th minute with an assisted goal by sibling D'Sanye Nugent to open the scoring for both teams.
 
The second score for the Lady Panthers came in the 83^rd minute from sophomore Reagan Scott, who was assisted by A. Nugent off of a free kick which was sent to junior Lesa Griffin to take the lead 2-0.
 
Sydni Wilson from Jackson State answered moments later as she found the net on a penalty kick goal in the 85^th minute.
 
Post-Game Notes: 

• Both goalkeepers (Sierra Cota-Yarde/Medinat Lawal) finished the game with three saves. 
• The Lady Panthers had 12 total shots, including nine on goal. 
• 10 different PVAMU players took shots; Savannah Powell and Xandria Johnson each had two apiece.

Prairie View A&M will continue on the road as the face Southern on September 26th for a 1 p.m. kick in Baton Rouge, La.
