PRAIRIE VIEW – The Prairie View A&M women's basketball team ran past the Wiley College Wildcats, 95-64, during their second contest of the season in the William J. Nicks Building.
With the win the Panthers moved to 2-0 on the season.
Senior
Diana Rosenthal finished with a game high of 21 points on Thursday night after posting 22 in Monday's game. Rosenthal was also big on the boards, finishing with a team-high seven rebounds. She also posted five steals and six assists.
Junior Destiny Jenkins had another impressive game for the Panthers, finishing with 15 points on 5-of 11 shooting from the field, including 4-of-10 from downtown.
Graduate student
Tamiracle Taylor had a game best of 11, she also posted stats across the board with three rebounds, two assists and two blocks.
For the game, PVAMU shot 40.7 percent from the field and 48.0 percent from the free stripe line. The team finished the game with 13 made three-pointers as Jenkins had four and Rosenthal concluded the game with three. Senior Jessica Soders posted two.
The Panthers held a 50-39 lead at halftime before opening the second half on a 11-0 run to take a commanding 22-point lead (61-39). PVAMU kept the pressure on and did not allow the Wildcats to get back in the game as the Panthers cruised to a 31-point victory.
Women's basketball returns to action on Sunday, November 13 when the Panthers travel to Pullman, Washington to take on Washington State at 1 p.m. CT.
