PANTHER TEAMS WIN 2022 INDOOR SWAC CHAMPIONSHIPS
 
Birmingham, Ala. – The Prairie View A&M Men's Track & Field team has captured the 2022 Southwestern Athletic Championship crown, and Coach Chris Clay was named Men's Coach of the year.
 
The men's team completed their finish with a total of 120 pts ahead of Texas Southern (85), Jackson State (70), Southern (70), Bethune Cookman (69), Arkansas Pine Bluff (63), Alabama State (60), Florida A&M (45), Alcorn State (42), Grambling (24), Mississippi Valley (8) and Alabama A&M (7) rounds up the men's field.

 
Notable Men's Results:

• Damon Cobbs Jr. finished second overall in the 400 meter dash with a time of 47.55 seconds.
• Jemal Wote finished first overall in the 3000 meter run (8:30.38), third overall in the mile (4:18.51), 
• The distance medley team consisting of Worthington Moore, Ethan Phillips, Cymon Shy, and Wote finished first shattering the conference record with a time of 10:11.84
• Nathan Crawford-Wallis finished second overall in the long jump (7.12 meters), and finished first in the triple jump (15.38 meters)
• Jonathan Ewulo finished second in the triple jump with a jump of 14.96 meters
• The 4X400 meter team of Nasir Pate, DeVonte Jones, Ethan Phillips, and Cobbs finished in first with a time of 3:16.09.
• Wote to home the Most outstanding track performer award totaling 26 points by himself
• Crawford-Wallis was named the most outstanding field performer with a total of 22 point

 
 The Panthers will now turn their attention and prepare for the outdoor season, as they will return to action on March 5 at the Texas Invite in Austin, Texas.
