PRAIRIE VIEW – Playing in their second game of the season, Prairie View A&M University struggled on the road against Texas A&M Corpus Christi, falling 8-1 at the Dr. Jack Dugan Soccer and Track & Field Stadium in Corpus Christi.
"We are extremely focused on improving our game shape, fitness and tactical awareness as fast as we can," said head PVAMU soccer coach
Christiane Lessa. "Time is limited, but we can't use this as an excuse. Every time we step on the field we are improving in two or three aspects of the game. We will continue to work extremely hard as a team to apply all the important elements during each game as it comes."

Lesa Griffin scored the Lady Panthers only goal of the afternoon in the 10
th minute. The goal was Griffin's and the teams' first of the season. The goal tied the game up until the 23
rd minute as the Islanders took back their lead. TAMCC built up their lead adding three more goals in the first to take a 5-1 lead. They scored three more in the second to take an 8-1 final score.
TAMCC took 23 shots on the afternoon compared to seven by the Lady Panthers. Of the Islanders 23 shots nine were on goal. PVAMU managed just two shots on goal, one apiece from Griffin and senior
Andrea Nugent.

Medinat Lawal collected one save on the afternoon while playing all 90 minutes in goal.
The Lady Panthers will continue play on the road Friday, Sept 2 at Abilene Christian at 7 p.m.
