HUNTSVILLE, Texas – The Prairie View A&M University volleyball team is still trying to find their notch after a midweek matchup, falling 0-3 to Sam Houston State Tuesday night.
"It was just a really off night for us especially after the weekend we had," said head PVAMU volleyball coach
TaCho Tyler. We were missing one of our key players and it seemed to throw the whole team off. She'll be back for this weekend's matches and we will also have another key returned coming back into play. We still have some things to work on, but we will regroup and be ready to perform at a much higher level this weekend."
The Lady Panthers struggled in throughout the night as they fell by the scores of 11-25, 13-25 and 13-25 as the Bearkats took the match.
Freshman outside hitter
Leila Smalls recorded five kills to lead the Lady Panthers, while freshman Makinzie Taplin dished out a season high of eight assists.
Sophomore middle blocker
Kiersten Atkinson added three kills during the match, while freshman middle blocker

The Lady Panthers return to action over the weekend in Stephenville, Texas for the Tarleton State Invitational, where they will take on Tennessee State, on Friday, Sept. 2. They will then turn their attention Southeastern Louisiana and host team Tarleton State on Saturday.
