PRAIRIE VIEW – The Prairie View A&M University volleyball team battled with the Texas A&M Commerce Lions on Tuesday evening in the Lady Panthers home opener. They were unable to claim its first win of the season as they dropped a 3-0 decision to TAMC.
"Tonight was just a poor showing," Head PVAMU Volleyball coach
TaCho Tyler said. "We have to get back in the gym and work somethings out. We have to get our offense going as it's just been one person making plays."
How it Happened:
In the opening set, PVAMU dropped a 25-13 decision. Freshman
Kylee Owens tallied three kills to lead the Lady Panthers in the set.
The second set the Lions opened up a quick 13-6 lead and never looked back as they took the set 25-11.
The third set was a close affair early on with the Lions, as the Lady Panthers took an early 4-1 lead causing Texas A&M Commerce to call their first time out of the night. The Lions, however put together a run to close out the set at 25-19.
Owens paced the Lady Panthers offense with four kills in the set, while hitting at a .429 clip. She finished the match with 10 kills. Senior setter
Jakarta Hope also added 10 assists.
