TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Prairie View A&M fell 45-7 to Florida A&M on the road Saturday afternoon.
The Rattlers improved to 7-1 on the year and 6-0 in Southwestern Athletic Conference play, while the Panthers fell to 3-5 overall and 3-2 in conference matchups.
Caleb Johnson totaled 60 yards to lead the Panthers' ground attack in the game, picking up 6 yards per carry along the way. Jamarious Brooks also tacked on 28 yards on the ground.
Trejon Spiller hauled in four catches for 54 yards and one score.
Darren Vasquez showed out for the Prairie View A&M defense, totaling four tackles, 1.0 TFL, one sack, and one recovered fumble. Dejuan Lewis added one interception.
Defensively, Prairie View A&M held up fairly well against the Florida A&M rushing attack, holding the Rattlers to 181 yards on the ground.
How It Happened
Florida A&M jumped out to a 14-0 lead, but Prairie View A&M got on the board with 5:06 left in the second quarter to cut the deficit to 14-7. Prairie View A&M didn't score again in the game and Florida A&M added 31 more points to finish off the scoring.
