ABILENE, TX - Chris Felix, Jr. totaled 25 points and Andre Nunley added 22 and the Prairie View A&M men's basketball team beat the Abilene Christian Wildcats 79-74 on the road Tuesday.
Chris and Nunley's stellar scoring performances led the Panthers (2-2) in the contest. Felix tacked on six rebounds and Nunley added six rebounds and four steals. Brian Myles also helped out with eight points, nine rebounds, two steals, and three blocks.
The Prairie View A&M defense held Abilene Christian shooters to just 38.3 percent from the field, including 26.3 percent from three-point range.
How It Happened
After falling behind 11-8, Prairie View A&M went on a 7-0 run with 14:07 left in the first half to take a 15-11 lead. The Panthers then surrendered that lead and entered halftime down 37-35.
After intermission, Prairie View A&M kept the Wildcats from increasing their lead before going on a 6-0 run to seize a 62-58 lead with 8:27 to go in the contest. The Panthers kept expanding the margin and coasted the rest of the way for the 79-74 win. Prairie View A&M capitalized on eight Abilene Christian turnovers in the period, collecting 13 points off those turnovers.
