AMES, IA --The Prairie View A&M men's basketball team got a 31-point showing from the bench, but fell 107-56 to the Iowa State Cyclones on the road Sunday.
Brian Myles led the Panthers (4-4) with eight points and three steals. Lane, Jr.,Charles added 13 points from the bench and Felix, Jr.,Chris helped out with nine points.
Led by Myles' three offensive rebounds, Prairie View A&M did a great job crashing the offensive glass, pulling down 11 boards that resulted in nine second chance points.
Prairie View A&M forced 25 Iowa State turnovers. The Panthers turned those takeaways into 19 points on the other end of the floor. Horton, Jr.,Orlando led the way individually with four steals.
How It Happened
Prairie View A&M struggled out of the gate, falling behind 52-35 heading into halftime.
Iowa State kept widening its lead after intermission, constructing a 94-47 advantage before Prairie View A&M went on a 5-0 run, finished off by Jr. Lane's three, to shrink the deficit to 94-52 with 4:08 to go in the contest. Iowa State responded and outscored the Panthers the rest of the way, ending the game with a final score of 107-56. Prairie View A&M capitalized on 12 Iowa State turnovers in the period, collecting 11 points off those turnovers.
