In Head Volleyball Coach Cheri Lindsay's first season, she led the Prairie View A&M women's volleyball to a Southwestern Athletic Conference second seed to finish the 2023 regular season with an overall 19-13 record and 13-3 in conference play.  Lindsay is one out of 10 other coaches to be selected for the 2023 Advancement of Blacks in Sports (ABIS) Women's Volleyball Head Coaches Watchlist.

The ABIS Board of Directors selected volleyball Coaches to the ABIS Women's Volleyball Head Coaches Watchlist on Thursday, December 13, 2023.  The ABIS selected a group of highly respected leaders representing the college sports industry.   Gary Charles, a legendary businessman who has had a major impact on grassroots basketball programs producing more than 20 NBA players, had a dream, and in 2020, he and a group of acclaimed leaders in the sports, entertainment, and legal fields felt the need to create an organization that will be considered the "NAACP of sports".  Our mission at ABIS is to connect and inspire people to boldly advocate for racial equity, social and economic justice for Blacks in sports. ABIS provides financial literacy programs for college student-athletes and professionals.  They also host seminars, webinars, and podcasts devoted to addressing issues that face Black athletes, coaches, and administrators in all sports on all levels.  Please visit www.weareabis.orghttp://www.weareabis.org/> to learn more about how to continue supporting coaches and help support the ABIS mission.
