PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas --Sophomore Cailin Massey was dealing on Friday, tossing a five-hit shutout to lead the Prairie View A&M Lady Panthers past the Alcorn State Lady Braves 1-0.
Massey (5-5) went the distance for Prairie View A&M (11-15, 10-0), giving up five hits, walking none, and striking out three.
At the plate, the Lady Panthers were paced by junior Jaylyn Davis, who went 1-for-3 on the day with a home run and an RBI. Junior Destinee Smith put together a standout performance at the dish as well, going 2-for-2.

The Lady Panthers took the lead for good in the second, scoring for the first and only time in the inning. Davis put Prairie View A&M on the board with a leadoff home run-off freshman Alexa Veamoi.
