CORPUS CHRISTI, TX --Prairie View A&M ran into a buzzsaw in the circle Tuesday as junior Primrose Aholelei threw a no-hitter for Texas A&M-CC, leading the Islanders over the Lady Panthers 1-0.
Sophomore Cailin Massey (1-5) started and took the loss in the circle for Prairie View A&M (1-12). The right-hander went six innings, giving up one run on four hits, allowing two walks, and striking out three.
Sophomore Hannah Garza led the way offensively for the Lady Panthers, going 0-for-2 in the ballgame with a walk.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Prairie View A&M did not advance a runner past second base in the game. The Lady Panthers went 0-for-2 with runners in scoring position, last placing a runner as far as second in the third when freshman Miranda Fimbres made it into scoring position with nobody out.

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX --The Prairie View A&M Lady Panthers had a tough showing on Tuesday, falling to the Texas A&M-CC Islanders 9-1 despite the efforts of junior Audrey Garcia, who went 2-for-3.
Sophomore Hailey Elizarraras (0-3) got the ball to start for Prairie View A&M (1-13) and took the loss.
In the batter's box, the Lady Panthers were paced by Garcia, who went 2-for-3 on the day. Junior Rayna Lewis compiled a standout performance as well, going 1-for-3 with a double.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Lady Panthers were trailing 3-0 in the sixth inning when they first put runs on the board. Lewis came across to score the lone run of the inning for Prairie View A&M and get them on the board. The ballgame ended with that sixth-inning rally falling short.
