College Station, Texas --The Prairie View A&M Panthers struggled on Wednesday, falling to the Texas A&M Aggies 13-3 despite the efforts of senior Alex Martinez, who went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI.
Freshman Elijah Breeden (1-3) got the ball to start for Prairie View A&M (14-22) and took the loss.
Martinez led the way offensively for the Panthers, going 2-for-3 in the ballgame with a double and an RBI. Freshman Ahmar Donatto compiled a noteworthy day at the dish as well, going 2-for-3 with an RBI. Sophomore Benjamin Ybarra also helped out, going 1-for-3 for Prairie View A&M with an RBI.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Panthers got on the board immediately, starting their scoring with one run in the top of the first inning. Prairie View A&M scored twice, with one run coming across on Ybarra's single.
The Panthers then held the Aggies scoreless before getting back on the board the very next inning. Prairie View A&M scored once on an RBI single off the bat of Donatto, which brought the Panthers lead to 3-0. The Panthers were unable to hold the lead, as Texas A&M scored 13 times over the remaining five innings to grab the 13-3 win.
