GRAMBLING, La. --The Prairie View A&M Panthers responded from down 5-4 in the eighth inning to win in exciting fashion, rallying to secure an 8-5 victory in the 10th inning over the Grambling Tigers Friday.
Freshman Elijah Breeden (3-3) got the win out of the bullpen for Prairie View A&M (17-24, 13-5). The right-hander went four shutout innings, giving up one hit, no walks and striking out three.
In the batter's box, the Panthers were paced by senior Alex Martinez, who went 3-for-4 on the day with a home run, a walk and three RBI. Sophomore Garrison Weiss put together a standout performance as well, going 3-for-5 with a double, a triple and two RBI. Senior Zachary Trevino also helped out for Prairie View A&M, putting together three hits in six trips to the plate while adding a double and an RBI.
