GRAMBLING, La. --The Prairie View A&M Panthers struggled on Sunday, falling to the Grambling Tigers 12-2 despite the efforts of freshman Ahmar Donatto, who went 1-for-4 with a double and an RBI.
Sophomore Matthew Krall (3-2) got the ball to start for Prairie View A&M (17-26, 13-7) and took the loss. Sophomore Kyle Carrick was a bright spot for the Panthers, coming out of the bullpen and throwing three innings, giving up one run on two hits, with two walks and one strikeout.
Offensively, the Panthers were paced by Donatto, who went 1-for-4 on the day with a double and an RBI. Sophomore Garrison Weiss put together a standout performance as well, going 2-for-3.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Trailing 7-0, the Panthers first put runs on the board in the fifth inning. Prairie View A&M pushed across two runs in the frame, the big blow coming on an RBI double from Donatto. The Panthers were unable to get any closer, as Grambling added five runs to their tally on the way to a 12-2 final.
