PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas – The start of the 2023 football season will officially begin this Saturday, September, 2. 
 
To start the week Texas Southern will host the annual Labor Day press conference on Monday, August 28 at noon in Houston at the Shell Energy Stadium in the Lexus Club.
 
Prairie View A&M's head coach Bubba McDowell and Texas Southern head coach Clarence McKinney along with Prairie View's Athletic Director Anton Goff and Dr. Kevin Granger will be in attendance.
 
The master of ceremony is Nate Griffin of Fox 26 Houston' Morning Show Making the Grade.  At the close of the press conference, one-on-one interviews with school officials will be immediately afterward.  Please contact each school's respective Sports Information Directors to schedule the interviews.
 
On Wednesday, August 30 the annual Prairie View A&M | Texas Southern Labor Day Classic Luncheon hosted by Touchdown Club of Houston will hold its annual luncheon at 12:00 p.m., at the Omni Galleria, 4 Riverway.
 
Both head football coaches will speak about the game as well as both school presidents, who have also been invited to speak.  Tickets are $35.00 each, and tables seating 10 each are available at $350.00 (regular table) or $500.00 (Purple or Maroon Sponsors)  Tickets can be purchased by using this link: click here.
 
The week will conclude with the annual Labor Day Classic football game on Saturday, September 2 for a 7:00 p.m. kickoff inside the Shell Energy Stadium in Houston.
