PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas - In his second season as the Prairie View A&M head football coach former NFL Houston Oiler Leonard "Bubba" McDowell has been selected to coach on the sideline for another Saturday during the Allstate HBCU Legacy Bowl, which was announced by the Black College Football Hall of Fame (BCFHOF).

"This is definitely a great opportunity for me the coaching staff and our players," said McDowell. " This opens the door for other all-star games and it allows us to coach some great players and hopefully make an impact on them as they further their careers to the next level."

The Allstate HBCU Legacy Bowl, presented by the BCFHOF is an HBCU's postseason all-star game showcasing the NFL draft-eligible football players from Historically Black Colleges and Universities.

Fans will have the opportunity to watch some of HBCU's premier athletes on the NFL Network. Prairie View A&M University will have four representatives from its program.

Former offensive linemen Eric Dunn and
Arrington Taylor will be in the mix along with former linebackers Trevion Green and
Keyshawn Johnson.

The coaches that were selected will represent the CIAA, SWAC, MEAC, and SIAC. Both teams will have two co-head coaches. The Players from the SIAC and the SWAC will make up Team Robinson – The legendary Eddie Robinson, Jr.

McDowell will also have some of his staff along with him on Saturday, February 24, 2024, with a first kick at 3:00 pm CT at Tulane University's Yulman Stadium.

Ashton Green and cornerbacks coach
Dan Lemke will be joining coach McDowell.

Outside of the game, there will be a week-long celebration of Black culture and history that will provide invaluable exposure for HBCU students.
