STARKVILLE, MS -- In a gripping regular season non-conference encounter, the Prairie View A&M Panthers showed resilience and fighting spirit against the Mississippi St. Bulldogs at Humphrey Coliseum, in Starkville, MS, on Sunday afternoon.. The game, which was tightly contested throughout, ended with the Bulldogs edging out the Panthers with a final score of 91-84.
The first half concluded with both teams tied at 44, setting the stage for an intense second half. Despite Prairie View A&M's efforts, Mississippi St. took the lead in the final quarter and successfully maintained it to secure the victory. Nick Anderson led the Panthers with an impressive 21 points, followed closely by Tanahj Pettway with 20 points and Marcel Bryant who contributed 19 points, complemented by seven rebounds, two steals, and solid defensive play including two blocks. The Prairie View A&M men's basketball team shot 52.6 percent from deep.
Prairie View A&M utilized great ball movement in Sunday's contest, piling up 15 assists on 31 made field goals. Anderson's four assists paced the Panthers and John-Paul Ricks also added four assists of his own.

After jumping out to a 14-12 advantage, Prairie View A&M went on a 13-0 run with 14:09 left in the first half to increase its lead to 27-12. Mississippi State then responded to tie things up at 44-44 heading into halftime. Prairie View A&M got the job done in the paint in the first half, scoring 22 of its 44 points close to the basket.
Mississippi State then snagged a 91-78 advantage before Prairie View A&M responded by going on a 6-0 run, finished off by Braelon Bush's jumper, to shrink the deficit to 91-84 with 15 seconds to go in the contest, The Panthers were unable to cut further into the deficit by the end of the game, losing 91-84. Prairie View A&M capitalized on seven Mississippi State turnovers in the period, collecting 11 points off those turnovers.
