BEAUMONT, Texas --The Prairie View A&M Panthers struggled on Tuesday, falling to the Lamar Cardinals 13-3 despite the efforts of freshman John Lawson, who went 1-for-2 with an RBI.
Sophomore Tyson Carlton (0-2) started and took the loss on the mound for Prairie View A&M (11-11).
In the batter's box, the Panthers were led by Lawson, who went 1-for-2 on the day with a walk and an RBI.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Trailing 11-0, the Panthers first put runs on the board in the seventh inning. The Panthers were unable to get any closer, as Lamar added two runs to their tally on the way to a 13-3 final.
